a Thank you to GAM Solutions

There's something special about sharing ideas with people who are genuinely passionate about what they do. And I think it is worth recognizing when you encounter such people.

My recent presentation at GAM Solutions’ innovation space was an experience that I'll not forget. Not because it was a big “show” or there was a massive audience there, but because it was real, personal, and comfortable.

GAM Solutions has come a long way, transitioning from machinery rentals to offering comprehensive end-to-end solutions. At the core of their success lies an unwavering dedication to innovation and, most importantly, to the people who bring these innovations to life.

That is what I believe makes them a very successful company and so different from others in their core business, but also in the transversal markets of the clients they work for.

So I want to take a moment to say a big thank you to everyone at GAM, starting with Pedro Carro Fernández, who invited me.

From the moment I stepped into GAM´s Innovation Space there was a sense of tranquility and curiosity which is beyond important for ideas to flourish.

I felt welcomed and appreciated in an environment where there was something special about people who were genuinely interested in what they could learn at these gatherings the company pulls together for them (also open to anyone who would like to attend BTW).

Those who know me know that I tend to talk very fast when the topic is something I know well or have a strong opinion about. I can be quite annoying actually!

At GAM I surprised myself by being far more paused than I usually am.

Why did I feel so calm although the topic is vast and I have had so many ups and downs dealing with it myself and I had 45 minutes including questions? Why did it not matter that there was a professional camera and production crew - much like a pro TV set, microphones, and an online audience watching too?

I believe the answer lies in the culture at GAM Solutions, the vibe they have achieved, and the lack of bad stress and anxiety amongst their teams.

Alex Lawton talks about Innovation, Data Science, and the dangers of Hype to business when managing change

The interactions, the good nature of the questions asked, and the feedback post-presentation; all of them were special, insightful, and heartwarming.

It's encounters like these that remind me of why I do what I do. Sharing insights on "Data and the Hype of Innovations" with all of you at GAM was a pleasure. Your welcoming curiosity is contagious, and I left feeling more inspired and motivated than when I got there.

To the fantastic team and community at GAM, thank you for having me. I'm genuinely grateful for the opportunity and look forward to more collaborations in the future.

Cheers to the memories made, to the video, and to many more in the making!
